Radio Northwick Park’s Lauren Rich won a Silver Award for Best Female Presenter at the Hospital Broadcasting Association’s national awards in Leeds over the weekend. Lauren beat competition from other entrants across the country to nab second place.
When asked about her awards win, Lauren said “I’m actually still in shock. It hasn’t quite sunk in yet. It’s given me a real confidence boost to actually want to take my radio career forward.”
Radio Northwick Park also won a “Highly Commended” Award for Male Presenter, Ben Punter, and the Station of the Year awards.
The awards ceremony marked the beginning of Hospital Broadcasting week which is dedicated to highlighting the hard work of volunteers around the country who help to brighten the day of patients in hospitals everywhere.
Radio Northwick Park will be celebrating their win and marking the end of Hospital Broadcasting Week at the St Anns Centre in Harrow this Saturday (5th of April) from 10am with live shows being broadcast back to the hospital and holding a tombola to help raise money for the refurbishment of their record library. Members of the public are invited to come along and see how a show is put together and ask the volunteers any questions they may have about hospital radio.
