Second place at ‘Let’s Do It’ awards
Radio Northwick Park came second in the Harrow Observer’s Let’s Do It awards last week, winning a prize of £500.
Barclays teamed up with the Harrow Observer to give a local charity the opportunity to win cash to help it fulfill its dreams. They offered a first prize of £1,000 and two runners up prizes of £500 in the 2008 Let’s Do It community awards.
A total of 160 charities were entered into the awards, RNP was nominated back in July 2008 and was one of the shortlisted charities chosen by a panel of judges. The award ceremony took place on Friday at the Harrow branch of Barclays where Keith Chilvers received the cheque for £500 on behalf of Radio Northwick Park.
Not only did Radio Northwick Park receive a cash prize, Barclay’s has kindly offered to match what is raised at our next Fundraising event, which will be a gig in Trinity’s Bar in Harrow on April 5th 2009. The prize money will go towards the station’s record library refurbishment which is due to start in the New Year.
